Remember Frontier?

Anybody remember how well the FrontierNet buyout of Primenet went?

I was amused to see headlines this week about the disaster that has been
unfolding over the last several weeks since Frontier bought Verizon's
DSL and FIOS business in a few states, but according to Wikipedia, the
Frontier Communications company in question is only vaguely connected to
the Frontier that bought FroGlo back in the day and then got promptly
swallowed up by GloCro.

Apparently, this company was once called Citizens Communications, and at
some point decided to buy the name Frontier from GloCro, along with the
old LEC business that came with Frontier when GloCro bought them.

Good times.

That's almost funny. :-)

I thought this place was dead. Glad to see someone else still here.

Yeah, it was so dead, that when I tried to get my newsreader to open the
group so I could post that here, it refused because the group was
completely empty of messages (the most recent message had expired off
the news spool at my ISP long before, I suspect).

So I had to just set the newsgroup in the header and post from outside
the group. But now that there are actual posts, I can open the group
just fine, thanks.

Wonder what the rest of the gang is up to these days. I still see Billy
and Trosko over on panix, but Hosun dropped out of even the Panix groups
long ago.

I'm still here, although it took a while to notice there are new articles
in this group. I currently working at Viacom, and just finished a tv show
at Fox. That one was called the Carmichael Show - it's on NBC, and is one
of the few I'm not embarrassed to admit having done. Hosun is back in LA,
after having worked in Cary, NC for a while. I'll be having lunch with
him next month, probably next week, as the Viacom shows are taking most
of July off. For now. They are incredibly sluggy, and will need extra
days to finish all the work we are not getting done now. Heh.

The Frontier take-over of GTE/Verizon here in California might as well
have been the same people we knew. It was incredibly screwed up. The
guy in the room next to me has FIOS - it was dead (everything, including
his phone) for at least three weeks.
