Westell Wirespeed ADSL modems?

Anyone here had any experience with these modems? DSL has come to
beautiful downtown Sunsites, AZ, and these are the modems that are being
furnished.

Who's your LEC? It looks like they've been used in other markets for some
time. A quick google reveals they're common in Texas (Austin and
Dallas/Fort Worth), and in Pittsburgh. I've seen posts about them dating
back to 2000, so it's not like they're a completely new equipment
provider--just not a big or popular name.

We have Valley Telephone Cooperative Inc. down here (Cochise County). I
have been quite impressed with their service, particularly their
cellular offerings and internet support, exept the don't offer shell
acounts. I googled the modem, too, but was curious whether there was
anyone around that had experience with it.

We (Douglas) just got DSL as well through Qwest.

We had Westell's in the lab at Nokia when I was there. They use a TI
chipset and are pretty much universally compatible as far as DMT goes. I
suppose there is better CPE out there, but the TI chipset is used by many,
many vendors.
