A friend of mine is moving into a house in the next 30 days and is
considering whether to get Qwest's 1.5mbps DSL or Cox's 3mbps cable modem.

Qwest's service charges don't include ISP fees, and he's trying to
determine which ISP he'll use if he goes with Qwest. I looked at Deru's
current promotions and such, but it looks like your monthly fees are
pretty high if he gets the 1.5M/768k DSL from Qwest.

Are you guys offering any kind of bundles that might make the Qwest DSL
more competitive with Cox? If he pays Qwest $25 a month for DSL and $60 a
month to you guys for ISP, he's paying substantially more than the $50 a
month he'd owe Cox for a cablemodem and ISP.

I just looked and Qwest's prices are pretty high.

In California I have 6016/608 adsl from an ok ISP (DSL
Extreme) for just $62.16 a month, for everything.

I'm paying $39.95 for Cox HSI. I have Cable TV as well. Without
Cable TV I think the cost of HSI jumps up to $49.95.

In WA, I'm paying $28.95 to Qwest (it was $31.95 until a few months
ago) plus $20 to my ISP (oz.net aka theriver.com), including one static
IP. I haven't upgraded to 1.5M/768K DSL yet, but when I do, the price
will stay the same.

I got my Qwest bill today and actually it is $28.00.

Hi Paul,

For consumer DSL our price for the new Qwest 1.5/864 service is the
same as the older 640/256 service Qwest used to push - which is $20.

Darin,

That's great news. I'll forward it to my friend.

Hi Paul,

We have not updated the pricing on our web site to reflect the new 1.5M/864K
speed that
Qwest now offers, but for consumer DSL, the price is the same on Deru's
part - $20/month.

:-)
